The Adams administration will be reduce the number of lanes on McGuinness Boulevard in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, reversing a decision made last month.

The city Department of Transportation announced Wednesday it will transform the four-lane roadway into two lanes of traffic and one lane of parking in each direction. The parked cars will then serve as barriers for bike lanes.

Some advocacy groups are pushing back, saying the new design will divert traffic into residential neighborhoods, hurting nearby businesses and slowing the path of emergency vehicles.
